📢 Osteoporosis doesn’t mean the end of mobility or hope.
“I have my life back”
We recently treated an elderly woman with severe osteoporosis who was struggling with debilitating SI joint pain. Despite her fragile bone health, she experienced significant improvement in both pain and function after SI joint transfixion.
Cases like this reinforce an important point: stabilization matters even in poor bone quality.
For osteoporotic patients, the post-procedure phase is just as critical as the intervention itself. We emphasize rigid stabilization and appropriate bracing early on, strict activity restrictions, and structured physical therapy beginning around six weeks.
Bone health may not be ideal, and waiting for optimal bone density is not an option, but with a minimally invasive approach and a thoughtful strategy we can still deliver meaningful relief.
Grateful for the continued advancements that help restore quality of life for some of our most vulnerable patients.
